My story
Violeta Paicu, counsellor
Born in Romania, a picturesque gem in Eastern Europe, I embarked on a journey shaped by my background in chemical engineering, entering a structured and logical career path. My move to Australia opened doors in a niche market that perfectly aligned with my expertise, allowing me to thrive in the field I cherished. Yet, amidst my professional success, I felt a calling that transcended my technical accomplishments. My deep compassion for others and a desire to alleviate suffering inspired me to pursue a new passion: helping individuals heal their emotional and psychological wounds. I am dedicated to giving hope and guiding people toward discovering their true selves, creating a bridge between my rational career and my heartfelt mission to impact lives positively.
With a strong professional foundation, I have embarked on a journey to understand the complexities of human experience. After earning a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, my passion for supporting individuals motivated me to pursue further education, culminating in a Master's Degree in Counselling. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse array of clients, helping them navigate challenges such as trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, I focus on significant issues like grief and loss, self-esteem, and life transitions. My experience also encompasses addressing communication barriers and dynamics within marriages and relationships. Each encounter enriches my understanding of the human condition, reinforcing my commitment to fostering resilience and emotional well-being in those I serve. As a professional trained in EMDR by EMDRAA and level 2 in the Gottman Method for couples therapy, I am equipped to address a wide range of challenges. I tailor my therapeutic approach based on the specific issues clients bring forward, integrating a variety of methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. This diverse skill set allows me to effectively support individuals, couples, and families in navigating their difficulties. With extensive training and experience in both counselling and industrial fields, I possess the cutting-edge skills needed to help clients cope with life's many challenges, fostering resilience and growth in those I work with.
In the safe and confidential space of a counselling session, I invite you to embark on a journey of self-exploration and healing. Together, we will delve into your past and present wounds, unpack family dynamics, and examine the feelings and thought patterns that shape your life. Through open dialogue and empathetic guidance, we will work on skills that foster personal restoration and wholeness, helping you to navigate the complexities of your experiences and emerge stronger and more resilient. With each session, you will gain insights and tools that empower you to move forward with confidence and clarity.
Reaching out for support takes immense courage, and it's commendable that you recognize the need for strategies to shield yourself from emotional or psychological pain. Whether you choose couple or individual therapy, rest assured that I am here to provide a non-judgmental space where you can explore and navigate your challenges. My approach is rooted in care and compassion, and I possess the skills necessary to guide you through this journey. I am passionate about helping individuals and couples repair emotional disengagement and foster healthy, successful relationships. Together, we can work on rebuilding connections and enhancing your overall well-being. Remember, you don’t have to face this alone; support is available, and positive change is possible.
